The lecture specifically covers Microsoft office in Microsoft word formatting.
Also learning formatting in excel We learned how to create formulas in excel determining averages and totals also creating pie and bar graphs from the formulated statistics formatting cells including colour and line style.
In conjunction to the formatting of Microsoft word and excel it covers browsing and navigating through the internet, using email and clients such a Microsoft excel, also going through the protocols like replying, carbon copying etc.
This lecture also covered playing media files in various players as well as viewing PDF document.

During today’s tutorial we did activities in both Microsoft word and excel in both these we were provided with the information or text to input and we had to format as directed by the tutorial worksheet. In Microsoft word doing such things as ~header and Footer ~margins ~alignment ~spacing ~heading ~aligning headings with text ~alphabetising. In Microsoft excel we learned how to create formulas in excel determining averages and totals also creating pie and bar graphs from the formulated statistics formatting cells including colour and line style.

Reading 1 ‘Using MS Word for APA tasks’ goes over navigating and formatting in Microsoft word, it goes through where things are and goes in specific detail of the processes required in order to perform these actions, some things that it goes over is customising toolbars, formatting a table of contents with headings and subheadings, turning off hyperlinks, inserting headers and footers as well as the basic paragraph formatting with font, spacing etc.

Reading 2 ‘Graphic File Formats’ Goes on about file types and there quality.
Bitmap: BMP is standard image format variation of 1-24 bit.
GIF: compressed image format for maximised transfer speed although lower quality.
Joint Photographic experts group: jpeg compressed slightly lower quality then the original image although it can vary die to the compression level.
Tagged image file format: tiff a highly compatible format used to transfer into other forms retains high quality even after compression and expansion.
